About Laura
Laura Vescovi is currently a student at The Florida State University studying Editing, Writing and Media. Growing up in a single parent household, Laura learned at an early age the importance of education. In high school she was highly motivated and extremely involved in several clubs and sports. She excelled in the sport of cross country, being named captain and runner of the year for 2007 and 2008 along with being a part of the varsity soccer and track teams. Clubs such as the National Honor Society and the Student Government Association occupied the rest of her time. Due to her role models who received educations as high as masters degrees and a J.D., Laura knew from an early start that she would pursue a college education.
Once enrolled at Florida State, Laura began taking general education class's in search for the perfect major. After a few wrong turns, the major Editing, Writing and Media fell into her lap. Trying her hardest to stray away from an English major Laura finally realized it was her strongest suit. Over the years she had excelled in writing and literature classes and continued to do so in college. Paired with the skill of literacy in technology, Laura had found her perfect major, however it wasn't until the Fall of 2012 that Laura knew exactly what she wanted to do. It was a trip to the Advertising Women of New York that inspired her to pursue a career in creative advertising. She is now the marketing representative for an up and coming website called Shuffle Tees on the Florida State Campus. She is also spending the summer of 2013 interning for Campus Crusade for Christ working in the public relations and marketing department.
In her spare time Laura loves to travel and is working to build her portfolio. She believes making connections and networking by visiting a variety of cities is the way to do so. She has spent her summers traveling the United States and living in places such as Charleston, South Carolina and Fort Collins, Colorado. She enjoys following the PGA tour and attending as many tournaments as possible. In her down time she loves to run and stay active.
